World’s Best Bobsleigh and Skeleton Athletes Slide into Whistler for 2012 World Cup February 2-4

WHISTLER, B.C.—The world’s best bobsleigh and skeleton athletes will return to the
Whistler Sliding Centre for the first of back-to-back Canadian stops to wrap up the
2012 World Cup season.
More than 150 athletes representing 21 countries will slide into Whistler for the
penultimate stop on the 2011-12 World Cup calendar.
Official training gets underway January 30. A media availability will be held with the
Canadian Team – details to be released later in the week.
The sliding sport festival will include DJ music and great food from many of Whistler’s
finest vendors.
Tickets can be purchased for $10 now at www.whistler.com, by calling
1.800.WHISTLER (1.800.944.7853), or in person at the Visitor Centre.
Children six and under are free. A WILL CALL pick-up booth will be set up
at the base of the Excalibur Gondola on February 2, 3, and 4. Spectators can also
purchase tickets by CASH ONLY at the base of the Gondola on race days.
The Canadian Bobsleigh Team will begin sliding on January 30. Interviews can be lined

Media Accreditation:
ALL media must RSVP in advance of the event to receive media credentials for the
World Cup. Media can pick up accreditation at the media centre which will be set up at
the venue.
Media Parking:
Limited parking will be made available for media in Lot 7. Media may also gain free
access to the venue via the Excalibur Gondola.
