BMW IBSF World Championships 2020

Four-man Bobsleigh Heat 3 and 4 // Skeleton Team Competition

In the debut of the Skeleton Mixed Team event this morning, our athletes finished the weekend with a bang. Jane Channell and David Greszczyszyn put a silver lining on their World Championships, after finishing in 2nd place by only 0.01 seconds! Mirela Rahneva and Kevin Boyer placed 10th.

After battling into a tie for 4th position after the first two heats of the World Championships four-man race, the very difficult decision to withdraw Team Kripps from the final day of competition Sunday was made due to a hamstring injury sustained by Justin Kripps.

“Unfortunately I tore my hamstring on my last step on the second push and after being evaluated by doctors we have no choice but to withdraw from the race to avoid further and more long term damage. As a team we’re of course extremely disappointed not to be able to continue the fight. It was an incredible first day of racing and tomorrow will be a huge fight for the medals between the top teams. We wish everyone the best of luck tomorrow and we’ll be back stronger for next season!” ...Justin Kripps.

Francesco Friedrich repeated his Gold medal performance in Whistler, in a German sweep of the podium in the four-man competition in Altenberg today.
