Cynthia Appiah celebrated a breakthrough performance, Christine de Bruin and Kristen Bujnowski extended their podium streak to three and Chris Spring made a charge for the podium of his own at the bobsleigh World Cup in Altenberg, Germany as the countdown to Beijing 2022 heats up.
Canadian teenager, Hallie Clarke, slid to her first European podium in Intercontinental Cup action.

2021-22 Medal Count
Canadian athletes have been sliding onto the international podium across all bobsleigh and skeleton disciplines throughout the 2021-22 season

What a weekend our senior bobsleigh women had!
Cynthia Appiah pushed the top-two fastest start times and finished with her first ever World Cup medal as a pilot, finishing second place. Appiah was followed closely by teammates, Christine de Bruin in fourth and Melissa Lotholz in 18th.
On Sunday de Bruin teamed up with Kristen Bujnowski for their third consecutive bronze medal performance. Melissa Lotholz and Sara Villani were 11th and Cynthia Appiah and Dawn Richardson Wilson in 14th.
In the mens action on Saturday Chris Spring and Mike Evelyn clocked their best ever finish together, placing fourth in the 2-man race. Justin Kripps and Ryan Sommer took on the difficult track in Altenberg finishing sixth out of the 26 mens sleds. Team Kripps was back together on Sunday when they finished in fifth place in the 4-man. Team Spring placed 11th.
Our experienced skeleton athletes travelled across Germany and slid down the track in Altenberg. Jane Channell slid into 10th place followed by Mimi Rahneva in 18th. Mark Lynch finished in 25th.

10th - 12th December, 2021
National Team rookie, Hallie Clarke, slid to her first European podium, confirming she intends to take Europe by storm. The 17-year-old finished in third place at the Intercontinental Cup in Igls, which was her first time sliding on the Austrian Olympic legacy track. She was closely followed by Madison Charney in fourth place. Between the two of them they have racked up a total of 11 medals so far this season across the North American Cup and Intercontinental Cup circuits.
The women were joined by Blake Enzie and Kyle Murray who finished in 13th and 16th respectively.
Evan Neufeldt joined his fellow teammates in Igls where he competed in the Europe Cup and stepped up his performance from last weekend, finishing in 10th place.
Neufeldt will now rejoin his team as they all head to Latvia for the last ICC of 2021.
