Daniel Sunderland a découvert le sport bobsleigh quand il a pris part à un camp de recrutement. Daniel a réalisé des progrès rapides dans son développement – il a commencé à concourir au niveau provincial, et en 2016 il a disputé sa première épreuve de Coupe du monde à bord le traîneau de Nick Poloniato.

Après avoir pris un congé de trois ans, Daniel est rentré au sein du programme national de bobsleigh dans l’espoir de réaliser son rêve de concourir aux Jeux olympiques.

Daniel est diplômé de l’Université de l’Alberta, avec un baccalauréat ès sciences en génie mécanique. Il met en application sa formation universitaire dans son emploi de calculateur de structures composites.
