Getting to know... Mackenzie Stewart

"It is an honor and privilege to represent my country. It means that I can be a role model and ambassador for young women to reach for their goals and continue to dream big."

Mackenzie is one of Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton's newer recruits, after being asked to be a brakeman for BC Bobsleigh. After taking a ride down the track in Whistler, Mackenzie thought that she would try out for the team, and has been competing for the last 2 seasons. Having a background in Track and Field while studying Criminology and Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University, Mackenzie has her eyes set on the Olympic dream.

Mackenzie's top speed sits at an impressive 152km/h and one of her career highlights is forerunning the BMW IBSF 2019 Whistler World Championship.

Mackenzie grew up riding horses and if she was given one thousand acres of land, she would love to have horses and build a rehabilitation center for at risk/ youths in the justice system.

Describing herself as positive, empathetic and just the right amount of crazy, Mackenzie would like to pursue a career in firefighting once she completes her bobsleigh career.
