Brynn McNabb’s journey to the National Bobsleigh Team is a testament to courage, curiosity, and the power of simply showing up.
A self-described lifelong dreamer of competing at the Olympic Games, her path took a pivotal turn during a conversation with her dad. Fresh off finishing her collegiate track and field career, Brynn was reflecting on what might come next when her father asked a simple but life-changing question: “How can we make that Olympic dream a reality?”
He suggested she look into bobsleigh – a sport where her speed, strength, and explosive power could shine. That same day, Brynn charged into research and discovered a bobsleigh-specific combine taking place in the United States. Thanks to her dual citizenship with both Canada and the USA, she was able to attend. A few weeks later, she was selected for the American team tryouts.
But as the process unfolded, Brynn felt a deeper pull towards her Canadian roots. Her heart told her that representing Team Canada was where she truly belonged. Trusting that instinct, she shifted her focus north – and is now proudly wearing the maple leaf as a rookie on the National Bobsleigh Team.
Brynn’s heroes are her parents. They’ve been her foundation from the very beginning – showing her what strength looks like, how to persevere, and how to stay grounded through every high and low. Their unwavering support, sacrifices, and belief in her have shaped the athlete and person she is today.
If Brynn wasn’t pushing a sled, she’s confident she’d still be pushing her limits. She’s passionate about fitness and highly involved in many pursuits. She loves CrossFit Games, Women’s Professional Tackle Football where she competed in Las Vegas.
But for now, her goals are clear. Brynn is chasing her biggest dream of all – representing Canada on the Olympic stage.
