Josip Brusic

Like many, Josip arrived into the Canadian skeleton scene from the sport of track and field. He ran track in Calgary with Caltaf. After a couple of years in the program, he was encouraged by his coach to try skeleton. He took a Testing Camp in Edmonton where he met coaches, Joe Cecchini and Kevin Boyer. After the scouting camp, he began training in the Ice House and has been hooked on the sport since. Josip officially received his Canadian citizenship in the fall of 2024, and is now committed to chasing his Olympic dream for Canada. Did You Know… Josip’s here is Luke Kuypers – his strength and conditioning coach at high school who had a huge influence on his training perspectives and habits. He works on the track crew at the Whistler Sliding Centre and is never shy to wow people with a blackflip.
