Growing up in Ontario Payton grew up playing Hockey from age four.  She played for teams in Muskoka, Orillia and then in Whistler, earning sportsmanship awards and MVP trophies.

Payton found her way into skeleton through a Discover Luge session and a season as a brake woman for her older brother in his bobsleigh training camps.  Being too old for luge and the lack of control in a bobsleigh, she found her love for skeleton at the age of 13.  She immediately signed up for the Discover Skeleton program, and joined the Sniper’s.

A Grade 10 student at Howe Sound Secondary in Squamish, Payton spends most of her time working and training at the Whistler Sliding Centre promoting Growth in Sport and the Guest Experience.  She can often be spotted hanging around the track watching her older brother bobsleigh or her younger sister luge.  On her rare days off, she can be found snowboarding, studying photography, or off somewhere reading. In the warmer months Payton’s second love is softball.  She excels as a back catcher and has an incredible arm. Payton has always shown a love for sports can never sit still for long. Her dream has always been to go the Olympics to win gold for Team Canada.

Did You Know…Payton picks a new song before every run and sings it while sliding.
